As the place where the energy transition will take shape, the North Sea is attracting much attention from the whole world. North Sea Energy ambassadors, such as René Peters and Joris Koornneef are regularly invited for interviews, dialogues, or present more in-depth information to interested audiences. Below are a few of these we don't want to keep from you.

North Sea Energy breakfast. Organized by North Sea Energy and EBN, Joris Koornneef and René Peters gave an introductory presentation followed by a panel discussion with several stakeholders about the dilemmas of system integration (read in Dutch) on the North Sea.

United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). The United Nations has proclaimed the next 10-years as Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) to support efforts to reverse the cycle of decline in ocean health and gather ocean stakeholders worldwide behind a common framework that will ensure ocean science can fully support countries in creating improved conditions for sustainable development of the Ocean. NSE was invited to submit an article about energy transition on the North Sea. Read the article.

UK House of Lords. René Peters was invited by the UK House of Lords to share his expertise and the insights that the NSE program has gathered for their EU Environment Sub-Committee. The Committee gathered evidence in October on North Sea energy cooperation and net zero emissions.

Ecology Day. Hosted by Summerlab and Our Mayor of the North Sea, Marcelien Bos several speakers took the stand to share a light on the North Sea. Representing North Sea Energy, our new ambassador Hester Dijkstra reflected on energy islands. Rebecca Smits of the TU Eindhoven student team brought along the model they had been working on recently, as a sneak preview to a live scale model that will be developed for the Eb & Vloed festival in 2022. Innovations Origins / the IJvergas project. René Peters was interviewed by Innovations Origins reflecting on Energy islands in the North Sea. To determine exactly what is needed, TNO and a number of partners investigated the feasibility of a multifunctional energy island in the North Sea: the IJvergas project.
